Responsibilities

Technica has an exciting opportunity to join our team in providing Information Technology Services to the FBI’s Information Management Division (IMD). This program is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of the Information Technology (IT) Systems supporting the Enterprise Vetting Center (EVC) within IMD.  We are looking for a User Interaction / User Experience Designer, Senior.  Conducts stakeholder interviews, user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.  
  • Designs and specifies user interfaces and information architecture.  
  • Leads participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirement discovery.  
  • Produces user requirements specifications & experience goals, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications.  
  • Effectively communicates research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visually.  
  • Plans and facilitates collaborative critiques and analysis & synthesis working sessions.  
  • Works closely with visual designers and development teams to ensure that customer goals are met, and design specifications are delivered upon.  
  • Designs and develops primarily internet/web pages and applications.  
  • Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs) that consists of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing. Research user needs as well as potential system enhancements.  
  • Has familiarity to, or may actually: code, test, debug documents, and implement web applications using a variety of platforms.  
  • Plans, recruits, and facilitates the usability testing of a system.  
  • Analyzes and synthesizing the results of usability testing in order to provide recommendations for change to a system.    
 
This position is located at the FBI facility in Winchester, VA. For select positions, the FBI may locate the position in Washington, D.C., however that will be determined by the customer. The government has established policies for on-site vs remote work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time. Where allowed, hybrid work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance w/SCI and CI Poly or ability to obtain CI Poly. 
  • Bachelor's and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing Figma and Angular to build and design UI/UX.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of government 508 compliance regulations and policies.
  • Prior experience conducting stakeholder interviews, user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Experience designing and specifying user interfaces and information architecture.
  • Have led participatory and iterative design activities.
  • Demonstrated experience producing user requirements specifications & experience goals, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications.
  • Proven strong oral, written and visualization skills.
  • Prior experience designing and developing primarily internet/web pages and applications.
  • Demonstrated familiarity to, or may actually: code, test, debug documents, and implement web applications using a variety of platforms.
  • Experience planning, recruiting, and facilitating the usability testing of a system.
