A Configuration Manager/Solutions Architect will deliver solutions per priorities in accordance with directed program objectives, executed in an Agile development environment. Candidate will be teamed with application developers, testers, and training resources to develop, deliver, and support releases of new systems capabilities and application functionality across the program lifecycle. This position requires active participation in the review of engineering change requests to assess impact upon configuration baseline and logistics support elements. The candidate should have strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail. As part of a multi-disciplined development team, the candidate should take the initiative to attack new challenges and learn new skills independently.

  • Leads the development teams to architect solutions and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintains a full understanding of all aspects of the production system and the impact of future changes
  • Advises the government on the best approach to complex problems
  • Documents solutions and project plans in a way which can be implemented by development teams
  • Guides development teams through project implementation
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Responsible for project completion
  • Perform configuration management audits and produce reports for exception, status and metrics related to CM

The position would be located at a government facility in Huntsville, AL and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or relevant field and/or equivalent combination of educations and experience
  • 8 years of experience with programming and software development
  • 5 years of experience componentizing large-scale production applications
  • Proven experience architecting software solutions based on customer requirements
  • Prior experience leading technical teams
  • Experience administering CM and supporting tools
  • Knowledge of configuration and release management procedures (CRs, Defects, and Enhancements)
  • Knowledge of business intelligence reporting and data quality
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies, Agile in particular
