An IT Project Manager (PM) position will plan, lead and implement large scale Enterprise IT projects. The PM will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing end user Enterprise technical requirements across multiple projects and buildings. Up to 25% travel may be required for this position.

 

The PM will analyze new and complex project related problems, and develop innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and other solution components to develop the project(s) scope of work (SOW) and project management plans (PMPs) to bring all the moving parts together to ensure a successful outcome.

 

The position would be located at a government facility in Huntsville, AL and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead an interdisciplinarian team of subject matter experts (SMEs) and other professionals on large IT projects (i.e. new construction, major renovations, major IT upgrades, etc.) or significant segments of large complex Enterprise IT projects.
  • Facilitate the strategic management process and provide consulting expertise and project management for specific strategic initiatives that are deemed high risk or critical to success.
  • Provide applications systems analysis and programming activities for multiple Government sites and/or facilities.  
  • Oversee all Enterprise IT aspects of projects, including the preparation of long and short-range plans for necessary support resources.  
  • Develop end-to-end project plans, including change requests, to meet objectives, schedule, budget, quality and risk across multiple projects.
  • Track progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines and report status and variances.  
  • Demonstrate ability to identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews in relation to Enterprise IT, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.  
  • Implement change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, and secure customer approvals. 
  • Balance prioritization, timelines, and potential risk factors that may impact project success.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top-Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Bachelors degree in IT or similar technical field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years experience leading Enterprise scale network initiatives; planning, managing, and implementing complex Enterprise IT into construction and renovation projects, as well as major Enterprise upgrades
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams to accomplish desired outcomes, on schedule, and within budget

  • Cisco Certifications (Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE))
  • Project management Institute (PMI) - Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience managing projects utilizing the SAFe Agile and Tailored Waterfall project management methodology
