Technica Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, self-directed individual to fill the role of Director, Business Development & Strategic Growth  for our DoD and other Federal agency customers. This position is responsible for managing customer relationships and their overall experience and satisfaction with Technica, in partnership with the program managers. You will establish strategic and tactical plans for retaining, growing and securing follow-on contract work. The successful candidate will build relationships with the key users and decision makers to understand mission needs and drive growth opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold strategic discussions with customers on current and future missions needs and shape opportunities through Technica’s technology and capabilities offerings. Have a special focus on Technica’s AIOps and cyber security solutions.
  • Gather market and competitor information to identify business trends and risks, and forecast demand and future program requirements.
  • Conduct reviews of programs to evaluate customers’ satisfaction and understand their pain points and challenges preventing them from achieving 100% mission success.
  • Partner closely with our program managers, BD directors and the Engineering and Innovation teams to develop solutions to address current and future program needs.
  • Assess the position of the company and how to improve its competitive posture against ongoing developments in the government marketplace.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives.
  • Manage the program managers on the various accounts.
  • Capture follow-on services contracts and expand existing programs to meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Draft value propositions of Technica’s technology that supports the customer’s mission.
  • Develop early win strategies and evolve the strategy throughout the capture lifecycle.
  • Develop and strengthen key vendor, supplier and partner relationships.
  • This position will require travel of 10-20%.

 

The position will be located in Sterling, VA and may support a hybrid work schedule. The final approved work schedule arrangement will be coordinated with the hiring manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • 16 years of related BD, account management, customer relations type experience.
  • Prior customer experience within the Air Force, Navy, FBI and/or DISA
  • Proven ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients.
  • Experience in generating customer engagements that lead to technology and capability discussions that align to customers’ mission needs.
  • Proven track record of a high win percentage on incumbent contract recompetes
  • Proven current and active network of key customer stakeholders and decision makers within one or multiple branches of the DoD and/or FBI and DISA.
  • Proven ability to gather market intelligence and translate it into business strategy and executable plans.
  • Knowledge and experience with DoD acquisition processes.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired

  • Direct Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Special Ops military experience in AIOps and cyber warfare mission related organizations.
  • Experience with designing communications and campaign plans that stand out with messaging that addresses the customer’s needs and wants.
  • Program management experience.
  • Proven ability to utilize critical thinking skills required to identify/shape opportunities and develop value propositions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel internally and with clients – executive management, management, technical and administrative.
  • New business growth and wins in excess of $10M Total Contract Value.
