Responsibilities

Technica is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer III to join an innovative team of developers in Patriots Plaza II, Washington, D.C.  The Quality Assurance / Test Engineer will have expertise in automated testing. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through the development and execution of automated test scripts. The ideal candidate will have a degree in IT or a related field, along with 2 to 5 years of experience in software testing.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Conduct 508 compliance testing to ensure our applications meet accessibility standards.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using issue tracking systems.
• Perform regression testing to validate software changes and ensure existing functionality is not compromised.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies.
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders.

 

Position is a hybrid opportunity in Patriots Plaza II, Washington, D.C.  The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts.  Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time.  Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility (and eventually CIpoly)
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automated testing.
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools, such as PyTest, Selenium, or similar.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in an agile team.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance testing and accessibility standards.
  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise test cases and test scripts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired

• Experience with Python programming language.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Knowledge of API testing and related tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
• Understanding of database concepts and SQL.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
