Technica Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer lll to support our DANS Team in San Antonio, TX.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Performs model based systems engineering as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle for network security monitoring and related systems
  • Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics
  • Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development
  • Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements
  • Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s Degree and  5-7 Years of experience or Masters and 3-5, or PhD and 0-2 (or equivalent work experience)
  • Active  Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing solutions on bare metal, virtual, cloud, and/or hybrid infrastructures
  • Experience working with stakeholders to analyze requirements
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Experience with TCP/IP, switches, routers, VPNs, routers, and firewalls
  • Experience with VMware 6+
  • Experience with writing and maintaining scripts 
  • Knowledge of databases: Apache, MongoDB, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, SQL
  • Familiarization with NIST standards (800-53, 800-171) and STIGs
  • Familiarization with engineering and implementing cloud and hybrid solutions

  • CCNP - Security Certification
  • SANS Certifications
  • Experience with COTS or open source Network Security Monitoring Solutions or the Air Force's Cyber Vulnerability and Hunt Weapons System
  • Familiarization with two or more programming/scripting Languages: JavaScript, Angular 2-8, Ansible, Kubernetes, Python 3, Docker, Java, C++
  • Familiarization with Jira, Confluence, Bro/Zeek, Suricata, and Moloch
  • Familiarization with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Scrum



  • Certification 8570/8140 IAT II (required within 6 months)
